We had an amazing time celebrating Summer and Juneteenth, this past Saturday with the kids and families from the Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida. We can not thank you enough for the support shown in our mission to a service to the community of Orlando. Without, your charity, donations, and services none of this would have been possible. We served over 300 meals, including over 100 kids from the Coalition. Additionally, summer enrichment packages for the kids, snacks drinks and snowcones, were provided throughout the day. Events included bounce houses, music, water balloon fight, face painting, balloon animals, basketball shoot out and silly string battle. The joy on the kids face was overwhelming and warmed our hearts. This is just the start of big things The Greatest Commandment Inc. has in store. Be on the lookout for our Back to School event in August/September.
First and foremost, we would like to express our appreciation and gratitude for your support and generosity. We have received some very generous donations through this campaign on Gofundme and also through direct contributions of money through direct payment means (outside of GoFundMe) and through direct goods donated (to meet immediate needs as posted) and pledges to volunteer with us on the day of the event and at the coalition. It has been such a blessing to be a part of this and see everyone's commitment and generosity.
We have used personal funds as well as the majority of existing donations in order to book these services so that we can ensure we won't miss our window to book prior to the event. We have faith that we will get the remainder of the funds needed by the time the balances are due. We have been blessed to have support of my church, Rejoice in the Lord Ministries, in the form of funds and volunteers as well as a the support of a nonprofit that is run by members of my church who have provided support in the form of a significant donation and enrichment supplies for the children. Even with this and the generous individual donations we have received so far we are still short of what we will need. Please share this fundraiser with anyone you know who may be interested so we can make this the best event possible and make it a memorable start to the summer for the children and tenants at the coalition. We are so grateful to you all! God is good!
